My Story...
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). I have earned my Master's Degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C. and my BS in Psychology from Stevenson University in Maryland.
My areas of specialization include working with adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders and personality disorders. I am trained in E.M.D.R. which is the most researched treatment for trauma and P.T.S.D.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) along with elements from other modalities of therapy to provide the best treatment approach for each individual client. I also incorporate natural and holistic interventions for those seeking an integrative approach.
I believe that an authentic therapeutic relationship is essential for therapy to be effective. Positive growth and healing occur through a trustworthy and supportive environment. Through this therapeutic relationship, the client is able to uncover their personal strengths which can be hidden or affected by past experiences or inhibited by anxiety and fears. My intention for therapy is to assist the client in developing the self-awareness and confidence needed to make the changes they desire so they can grow and blossom.
